than producing the truth on the ground. History has it that never has
at any one time, research produced in Uganda been correct unless it
been produced to the interest of the client. having workied as a
policy, research and strategy in IPC. I felt there was somethong a
miss. reason being that, there was to be customer satisfaction and yet
something some how on the ground was wrong, something needed to be
done and unless otherwise, the elctions where to be a fraud, which
indeed was.

The other day, Hon Kirunda Kivenjija, blandered giving our President false information about riots, which he also told another country, today he drive drives a Corona Kabina after being dropped, now the New appointee, Hon Muruli Mukasa Minister of information, calls the Ugandan opposition to dialogue to forge away forward to a defunct Ugandan Economy, he vehemently accuses them to be terrorists and that they want to takeover power. Why, not remove a pake in their own way of running government, concentrate on better policies and strategy to manage the Populace than have accusing fingers.

Dear all,

Yesterday, 16th at about 6.30 pm about 27 FDC supporters were arrested at Kataraka from a house of John Behumbiza, Chairman Nyakyera Campaign Task Force. They were piled on a double cabin pick-up like dead bodies and taken to Ntungamo police station. The names of the arrested we have so far established are; Edward Karabarwa, M. Ibase Arthur, Tindyebwa Geoffrey, Tushabe Grace, Esau Katabarwa, Ruzahuka Christopher, Mbakurate Cypriano, Twesigye, Tibayungwa, Banyenzaki .

The FDC supporters were arrested while training to act as polling agents for FDC candidates for the election of 18^th February. The trainer Charles Tukwase, from another sub-county, was also arrested among the agent trainees.

Yesterday's arrests happened hardly two weeks after the arrest of Mr Stephen Mujuni who was arrested on 9^th February when the FDC_IPC party flag bearer Dr. Kizza Besigye was in Ntungamo district. Mr. Mujuni was arrested for wearing an FDC T-shirt and decorating his motorcycle with Dr. Besigye's posters and passing near a venue where the MP for Ruhaama county was going to hold an event. He stayed overnight in police cells at Ntungamo police station, He was released on police bond but his motorcycle is still detained. In Ntungamo Municipality, also part of Ruhaama county, Mr. Levi Rugasira and Ms Alice Kafoda were beaten up and later dumped at Ntungamo police station with broken limbs. According to the information we have, more arrests of our agents and supporters are in the offing.

There has been intimidation of all sorts for sometime. NRM leaders, like Mr. Habineza, NRM Chair Ruhaama sub-county has for example told FDC supporters that they (FDC) will be beaten up and that voting will be on the table in front of the polling officials. This therefore means that voting tomorrow in this particular constituency will not be by secret ballot.

FDC-IPC raised an alarm that vigilantes were being trained all over the country with the highest concentration in Ntungamo. More police units have since been deployed in the district in addition to military presence and activity.

TAREHE SITA

25years on, welfare of soldiers remains shamefully wanting Tarehe Sita, as celebrated yesterday -6th February, marks an important day in the life of Uganda's defence forces. It marks the day in 1981 when a group of young men launched the first attack to overthrow a system that had abused an electoral system. But what has happened to the army itself? Whenever the name UPDF is mentioned, the term "ghost soldiers" comes to mind. The war in Northern Uganda which dragged on for 25 years was characterized by under deployment of the soldiers and profiteering by a clique of corrupt officers. Keeping ghosts on the army pay roll was one of the reasons that made UPDF thin on the ground hence giving leeway for the rebels to attack and abduct the defenceless people in the north. This harmed the credibility of the UPDF.

The welfare of the soldiers has remained shamefully wanting. Soldiers don't earn a living wage, 30 years since Tarehe Sita. They are struggling to make ends meet. Those with families cannot receive assistance to treat their children and wives. The soldiers that fall sick cannot afford their own treatment. They live in pathetic conditions of abject deprivation, mostly in grass thatched huts commonly known as 'Mama ingia pole'. Those that retire due to age or disability lead miserable lives.

Their monthly pension, when it arrives, is shameful. A retired Major gets a pension of Shs.289,000. Non-commissioned officers get even less! Things have gotten worse due to the spiraling inflation the country is experiencing. The veterans are a miserable lot- most are abandoned and must wait for election time to be deceived that they are wanted and cared for. After elections they resume their misery.

Children of soldiers cannot access a decent education or health care, yet in many countries that care for their soldiers, the army schools are the best in those countries. Army hospitals would be the envy of the rest of the population.

Professionalism has eluded the UPDF. Unfair promotions, regional imbalance in the nominations for higher military training and outright acts of nepotism are rife in our military. The Interparty Cooperation government led by Col (Rtd) Dr. Kizza Besigye will address these problems and restore the meaning of Tarehe Sita in the lives of our gallant soldiers. The IPC Presidential Candidate a retired soldier himself has a vivid idea of what a soldier's life should be. He has experienced first hand, the suffering and frustrations of a Ugandan soldier. All over the world, soldiers die sooner so that civilians can live longer. They deserve to be motivated. Their families deserve to be cared for.

The IPC government will do the following to make the institution of the army enviable.
a) We shall increase the basic salary of a soldier (Private), to a living wage of not under USh.400,000/-
b) We shall provide decent accommodation in all barracks and establish district Army shops where retail prices will be subsidized by the government
c) We shall extend the welfare of soldiers to include their immediate families. Under the IPC government, NO child of a fallen soldier will be unable to complete studies on account of school dues.
d) We shall expand military medical services and establish regional model army hospitals where surgical, maternity, gynecological and paediatric services will be provided
e) We shall address the long standing issue of imbalance in army promotions and secondments to higher military training, which have been dogged with accusations of nepotism
f) We shall establish a full fledged Military University (which will have a pre-University section) to ensure that soldiers can acquire the best military skills but also to learn other professions which would make them employable on retirement. Soldiers, except in a state of war, have a lot of time to do other things. They can use this time to study and prepare for productive civilian life g) We shall de-politicize the army completely and make it absolutely professional. The lip service about professionalizing the army of the past 25 years of the NRM is over
h) We shall fulfill the outstanding government obligations to pay the retired servicemen and service women from the defunct Uganda Army to the present UPDF. A soldier is a soldier regardless of which regime she served. A soldier's life is the epitome of selflessness and highest sacrifice. Soldiers deserve better than the Museveni regime has managed to offer for the past 25 years.
This is the IPC commitment to the issues of the military.

Time to stop institutionalised corruption

As elections get nearer, IPC is concerned about the recklessness with which government is using tax payer’s money. Just after a forced passing of the supplementary budget 602billion shillings, government secretly put 20million shilling into the legislator’s accounts purportedly to enable them supervise government programs.

IPC acknowledges that parliament has an oversight role to play but this oversight role is done under committees not as individual Members of Parliament. Every year before a budget is passed; there is a review and presentation of a performance report. It is this report that is used to determine how much money a ministry is allocated.

For this matter, at the end of financial year 2010/2011, a committee on agriculture will deliver to parliament a performance report of the Ministry of Agriculture based on the field visits and interfaces with ministry officials and other actors dealing in this sector. Parliamentary committees have powers to summon anyone regarding this matter. Today, the NRM government wants us to believe that money given to MPs is meant for monitoring of government programs. How are individual MPs expected to monitor the programs and how and where are they expected to give their findings?

Secondly, before this money was put on the MPs accounts, there was a levy of income tax of Sh 6million, implying that the 20m is an income earned but not facilitation as the public has been made to believe. IPC condemns this corruption which is now endemic. In giving out this money to MPs, NRM has once again demonstrated how it has institutionalised corruption, a process that began during the 7^th parliament when it ‘facilitated’ a select group of MPs with sh5m during the course of debate that culminated into the amendment of constitution and lifting of term limits. These are examples of the impunity with which tax payer’s money is misused. We urge all IPC MPs not to use this money for it is indeed blood money! We appeal to all Ugandans to save their country by turning out in huge numbers on 18^th February 2011 to vote out this endemically corrupt regime.

IPC tally center is an effort to attain a clean election

At a press briefing held yesterday 23^rd January 2011, when responding to a question from a journalist, the Inspector General of Police said that he had information that the IPC flag bearer Dr. Kizza Besigye would cause riots in the country if he (Dr. Besigye) is not declared winner.

Our conversations with the IGP revealed that he (IGP’s) allegations are based on information given to him that FDC had trained 19 persons per parish known as PABs. The IGP also has been given information that the IPC planned tally center is in line with the planned riots. IPC considers this very unfortunate coming from the chief of police. As a professional lawyer and head of an institution with both financial and human resources, he is in position to check out his facts before coming out with these unfortunate public utterances.

As IPC, we take this opportunity to make it clear to the nation that PAB in full means Polling Area Branch which is composed of an Executive of 19 people. This executive is what constitutes the first structure of FDC party. After PAB, the structure moves to LC3 where we have 13 people and subsequently the district and national level.

About the tally, we again want to assure the country that this is absolutely a constitutional right and that everything that IPC is doing is within the law. In all polling areas, the polling officials read out the results (aloud) and declare the winner. IPC will therefore simply be computing what the EC official will have already declared. We call upon the police and all peace loving Ugandans to embrace the IPC plans to guard its votes. IPC’s plans are only a humble contribution towards ensuring that the country not only has a clean election, but also remains peaceful. We are sure that this is a scenario that the police chief and all other peace loving Ugandans would like to see.

Meanwhile IPC informs the public that Dr. Kizza Besigye is now without government security after failure by the authorities to reinstate Inspector Tumuramye. The IGP yesterday rejected IPC pleas to have Mr. Timuremye and the other three police security officers reinstated. IPC is uncomfortable having another set of police officers especially given the UN

By the look of things, it seems NRM governemnet is determined to
empty the treasury before they hand over power next May. Aready it has
been reported that all ministries are dysfunctional because all the
money has been diverted to campaigns. It is therefore not surprising
that 20million shillings was secretly deposited on the MPs accounts to
purpotedly enable them monitor governmnet programs. IPC condems this

from Mityana had defected to NRM party. As it turns out , these people
were meant to believe they had been called by Dr. Besigye, on arrival
at the venue, their phones were removed from them and later, President

The leader of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) who is also the flag bearer for the opposition Inter Party Cooperation (IPC), Dr. Kizza Besigye has said his government will focus in supporting local investors more than the foreign investors. Speaking at a rally in Malera in Bukedea district, Besigye said it is not wise to invest on foreign investors even when local investors have more potential to develop our country.

In the past till now, the government of President Museveni has laid so much emphasis on foreign investors, so much so that they are even aided with local capital finances at the expense of the tax payer. One such widely criticised government support to a foreign investor was the billions of tax payers money given to Jonah Kanathan, However, Besigye was more specific about investors being dished with land, a trend he termed 'land grabbing'. He said investors will not be allowed to grab land of local people but locals should be enabled to exploit their own land. "If investors want to come here, they should construct factories not grabbing your land. We will encourage and support local investors; local people from here to invest in your own land.

Land grabbing is an issues that Dr. Besigye has addressed throughout his campaigns tours. He says the reality of government trying to grab from local people lives on. The president said the people of Bunyoro are now seeing the ill and selfish intentions about Museveni's government about their oil-rich land. The same is true of the people of Buganda and Acholi who are still engaged in continuing battles with government over its intention and schemes to grab their land. "My government is going to protect your land as a priority means of developing local people because it is the biggest capital you can afford," he said.

Business in Mbale town ground to a halt on Monday evening as Inter Party Cooperation (IPC) flag bearer also Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) president, Col. Dr. Kiiza Besigye entered the town for the final rally at Mbale Secondary School grounds.

Hundreds of enthusiastic supporters waited for the candidate’s entourage at Kyamukaga, six miles outside town along the Mbale Tororo Road and escorted him all the way, some running on foot, others on bicycles, motorbikes and cars.

A handful of NRM supporters draped in yellow T-shirts and dry banana leaves who attempted to disturb the entourage four miles outside town were ignored as the convoy made its way into town.

In the center of town, crowds, some of whom had earlier participated in sweeping and washing of the streets ahead of his arrival, lined up along Republic Street to wave and cheer at the candidate who waved back from the rooftop of his car.

Besigye who had earlier addressed rallies in Bungokho South and North told the main rally that despite remarks by President Museveni that it is he who will decide when and who to hand over power to, that power does not lie with him, but with the people.

“If he is the one who decides why is he going all over the country begging for votes? He would have simply stayed at home,” he said.

President Museveni while campaigning in Katakwi on November 26, said that his handover of power would be well planned and after some time. The handover, he said, would be to people who actively participated in the struggle to pacify Uganda and rebuild the economy.

"You say Museveni should go. If I have to go, I will go home but it should be well planned and that is after many years," he was quoted to have said in the government owned The New Vision.

The President’s remarks have since been construed to mean a lack of willingness to hand over power in the event of defeat at the polls, but Besigye defers.

“If you decide that he goes, then he will go back and sleep in Rwakitura. There is no doubt about that,” he told the people of Mbale.

He said that Uganda can be transformed within a very short time, adding that the country’s problem has never been lack of resources, but mismanagement of those resources.

Besigye said that his government will among other things work to create jobs that are meaningful sources of livelihood.

Besigye later hosted on a talk show on Open Gate FM.

Today the campaign takes him to Bududa and Manafwa districts.

Fellow Ugandans,

country is at its best when the leadership cares about its people and when the sense of national purpose and vision is clear. For 25 years under the current Government hope has been lost and the challenges we face are immense. Our public sector is overwhelmed by misuse of public resources, our social fabric is shattered. The political system and politicians have all betrayed the people and the cause they intended to serve.

I believe we can get out of this trap and sort out these problems if we work together. If we remember that we are all Ugandans and we are therefore one people irrespective of our tribe, religion, colour as well as our social economic and political background.

The current government says: ‘give us your vote and we will make all of you rich’. We say: real change does not come from government alone, real change comes when the people are mobilized, and inspired to play a part in the nation’s future and feel there is fairness in the distribution of the nation’s resources.

Yes, this is our plan. Yes, it sounds ambitious. But in the end all the new measures, all the new policy initiatives, shall remain spoken words without your involvement.

How will we create jobs unless we understand that we are all in this struggle together?

How will we raise the standard of education in our schools unless every parent plays their part and government realizes the need? How will we turn around communities unless people stop asking ‘who will do this?’ and start focusing on solutions?

The 2011 elections offer us an opportunity to change or continue living in this misery. We believe Uganda will change for the better when we all vote to take part, to take responsibility – if we all come together for a purpose. We believe that collective strength will overpower our problems. We believe that we have the support needed for this change and above all we have the resources for change in this country.

It is only this relationship that can get rid of this oppressive government that has kept you suffering for 25 years and, eventually start the progress we need. It is this process that can get the economy moving so that we can create jobs for our children.

It is through this effort together that we will offer quality health care, improve the standard of education for our children, reclaim our freedom and liberties and repair our broken society. I believe that together we stand a chance to make politics and politicians work better to support our efforts.

So ladies and gentlemen, my invitation is this: join us to reverse bad policies and build on our achievements by voting for us to take leadership of this country

BENCHMARKS FOR UGANDA 2011-2016

wenty five years of NRM’s failure and lack of opportunity and choice has kept Ugandans in poverty and disunity. The executive has become the State, and the state has become the executive. A small rich elite class has prospered, while most Ugandans have not shared in this prosperity. For the first time, in the history of this country, IPC offers Ugandans an opportunity to change the destiny of their country with proper leadership based on clear benchmarks. Achieving these benchmarks over the next five years will place Uganda back on track to building a new Ugandan economic model, very different from the one that NRM has presided over for the last two and a half decades.

The IPC has carefully identified the following priorities for the next five years:

1.0 CHANGE THE ECONOMY

1.1 Promote economic empowerment and employment. Get Ugandans working by creating jobs for the youth and reducing unemployment, while fighting unfair treatment and exploitation of employees.

1.2 Develop public infrastructure with a special focus on public transport, roads, water and railways.

1.0 CHANGE THE ECONOMY: CREATE EMPLOYMENT

Promote economic development, create jobs and raise the standard of living

IPC government will promote free market enterprise and create a conducive environment for investment in order to create jobs. As part of the 5 years strategy for tackling poverty and inequality in our society IPC government will reduce youth unemployment, ensure job security and guarantee a secure work place.

A nation is only truly prosperous if it is built on the strength of a society that believes and invests in its people. The current big government approach makes our social problems worse, not better – inequality and chronic poverty continue to rise despite presidential handouts; social responsibility is lacking; while community and individual vulnerability threaten Uganda’s predominantly young population. Energetic and talented young people roam the streets and villages in search of work, many of them having exhausted their families’ assets and savings to pay for expensive tertiary education. At no time in our history have there been so many unemployed and frustrated Ugandans in the midst of so many opportunities

The IPC government will do the following to reverse this trend:

1.1 Promote more local investment in productive sectors such as cottage, small and medium scale and agro processing industries. The government will play an active role in directing strategic investment for development through accountable public-private partnerships, targeting specific sectors. This will be done through providing incentives to the private sector, such as low interest rates (directed credit), tax incentives, low tariffs on imported goods for industrial production, and by assisting those companies that invest in priority sectors and regions.

1.2 Provide investment incentives in priority sectors that employ the Ugandan youth and those willing to offer apprenticeship to facilitate experience.

1.3 Protect workers from unfair dismissal from work and bad working conditions by implementing labour laws.

1.4 Introduce a living wage for all the workers so that they can meet their day to day needs.

1.5 Raise the tax threshold for PAYE to 500,000 to give workers enough disposable income for day to day expenses.

1.6 The IPC government shall establish a Youth Entrepreneurs Scheme to increase opportunities for young entrepreneurs and subsidize businesses started by the youth.

1.7 Government shall increase macro-economic stability by cutting the current huge budget deficit that has resulted from irresponsible government spending and massive foreign borrowing. This will in turn result in reduction of interest rates; hence increase the ease of borrowing from banks.

1.8 Promote private investment and job creation by reducing taxes.

1.9 Revamp Uganda Development Bank to provide affordable medium and long-term credit to local businesses and farmers which will lead to job creation.

2.0 CHANGE THE ECONOMY: INCREASE INVESTMENT IN THE AGRICULTURAL SECTOR

We will increase investment in the agricultural sector from the current 3.8% to 12%. We will modernise agriculture by investing in mechanization and we will ensure that Ugandan farmers have access to markets, and farm inputs.

People living in rural areas continue to face the harshest conditions of poverty, lack of access to social and financial services, as well as uncertain markets for their produce. The IPC will pursue a supply driven agricultural modernisation program, with the aim of making agricultural sector more productive for the rural farmers. Our strategy is linked to land and agriculture, and poverty reduction among the farmers. In pursuing this strategy we will therefore:

2.1 Set up marketing cooperatives to increase sales of crops and improve incomes of rural people.

2. 2 Provide access to high quality seeds, farming equipment, and extension services at subsidised prices.

2. 3 Provide agricultural water for production such as dams and irrigation facilities.

2. 4 Offer guaranteed markets for strategic agricultural products.

2. 5 Establish and maintain national food reserves in the rural areas.

2. 6 Establish an agricultural bank to give affordable and convenient credit and finance to farmers to increase productivity.

2. 7 Promote and support agro-processing to add value to farmers’ agricultural products in order to increase their earning.

2. 8 Invest in relevant research to aid the farming sector to enhance productivity and reduce preventable losses of livestock and harvests.

2. 9 Construct and support agricultural farm institutes in each sub region to offer the needed agricultural extension services to farmers.

3.0 CHANGE THE ECONOMY: GUARANTEE LAND OWNERSHIP

We will protect and entrench the Constitutional provision which guarantees that ownership of land belongs to the people. We will develop a comprehensive land policy to protect both land owners and squatters. Land grabbing will be stopped within three years of the first IPC government.

Whereas government can regulate the use of land from time to time in accordance with the law, land belongs to the people. Land is the most important natural resource, and agriculture and industrial development are dependent on it.

In the recent past there has been an escalation of land grabbing and evictions of squatters by a clique of rich and influential leaders of the current ruling party who steal public funds to buy land. The government has also sold land to fake investors who then evict the people.

The IPC government shall do the following to ensure optimal use of land to better the livelihoods of Ugandans.

3. 1 Entrench the provision of peoples ownership of land in the Constitution.

3. 2 Require that foreign investors wishing to invest in land go into partnership with nationals who own the land.

3. 3 Evolve a comprehensive and acceptable land reform policy after extensive consultations with all those that hold a stake in the land.

3. 4 Review land laws to bring them in line with the demands of a rapidly growing population, and in conformity with people’s needs.

3. 5 Establish a national data bank on land and mineral resources.

3. 6 Prior to allocating public land to a private investor, publish a company profile in the national gazette that indicates the nature of the investment, sources of funding, shareholding, contributions to national treasury, and environmental impact.

3.7 Enforce existing laws to control rampant evictions of lawful occupants of land

3.8 Increase the Land Fund reserves to compensate absent land lords or squatters, and to settle landless men, women, and children.

4.0 CHANGE THE ECONOMY: DEVELOP INFRASTRUCTURE

IPC government will develop nationwide infrastructure. We will construct new roads that link Uganda to other regions and formulate a national road policy. We will renovate and repair town and city roads. We will construct flyovers and a ring road around Kampala to ease traffic congestion.

We will ensure that taxi and bus parks are renovated and new ones constructed. We will revamp the railway transport system and air transport to meet the needs of Ugandans

Under the current government road construction, maintenance and repair remain very poor despite the large sums of money provided to the road sector each year. The railway system collapsed. The current government has made our roads impassable with floods in the city, potholes everywhere, sewage systems broken down and no proper transport infrastructure to be proud of. Public buses and airlines were sold off leaving Ugandans at the mercy of private transporters. The roads are narrow and crowded. Accidents are reported everyday because of the poor state of the roads.

The IPC government will do the following:

4. 1 Formulate a national policy on road development.

4. 2 Construct tarmac highway roads that link Uganda to other markets in the region and other outlets for exports and imports

4. 3 Invest in water transport through private- public partnership.

4. 4 Revive a national airline through private- public partnership.

4. 5 Construct the rail network for efficient passenger and transportation of goods through public - private public partnership

4. 6 Enforce accountability and axle load controls.

4. 7 Provide a legal regime for the protection of roads.

4. 8 Build a fly over network and a ring road around Kampala to ease traffic.

4.9 Remove potholes and dust in Kampala, and other major towns.

5.0 CHANGE THE ECONOMY: DEVELOP ICT FOR ALL

ICT for all

IPC government policy will be to ensure that all Ugandans both in formal and informal education access the knowledge, and use of ICT. We will ensure that Uganda becomes an ICT country and leads in East Africa. We will extend ICT infrastructure to rural areas for rural people. We will make sure that all schools teach computer as part of the curriculum.

The future of our development lies in mastering and efficiently applying knowledge in Information and Communication Technology to process information and communicate. Most Ugandan children and even older people, are ICT illiterate.

The current government has presided over an ICT illiterate population in the 21st Century and yet ICT is now a global tool for communication and information processing.

The IPC focus on ICT will be;

5.1 Increase investment in the use of ICT in education, both formal and informal, and in the establishment of rural ICT centres, to promote accessibility and usage by women and the youth.

5.2 Increase resource allocation to the Uganda Communications Commissions Development Fund, so as to equip more rural populations, especially the youth and women, with computers.

5.3 Require schools to teach computer and create community based infrastructure to target the youth who are out of school.

6.0 CHANGE THE ECONOMY: PROTECT OUR NATURAL RESOURCES

Sustainable and equitable use of natural resources.

It is absolutely crucial that our natural resources are well managed for the benefit of the people of Uganda. This is even more pertinent for oil resources because of the high expectations. The aim is to ensure that our oil becomes an asset rather than a curse.

All development assume availability of the necessary energy to power them. Uganda has got an acute shortage of energy which is retarding its industrial development. The expansion of the economy means that we will need more power; on the other hand the increasing population also means that the need for energy in our homes for cooking and lighting of our houses increases. Unfortunately, most Ugandans depend on wood energy which puts pressure on our ecological system. For 25 years under the NRM, there has been little expansion of the electricity supply source. No new big dam has been constructed and no option has been given to our people. The cost of a unit of electricity today is high and unaffordable for most people.

Our policy will aim at reversing this trend by popularising, among others, the use of clean energy from solar, geothermal, wind, bio gas, hydro power, and oil. IPC government will also construct power dams in Karuma, and facilitate the quick completion of the Bujagali dam. We shall manage oil resources prudently and transparently so that it does not turn into a curse

The IPC government will do the following:

6.1 Establish a transparent and equitable legal and policy framework for the management of oil resources in Uganda.

6.2 Set up a national oil fund for posterity separate from the consolidated fund.

6.3 Promote solar, wind, biogas, and other forms of energy especially in rural areas.

6.4 Allocate 10% of resources from oil and other natural resources to sectors that directly benefit women.

6.5 Review the prices of energy such as electricity to ensure an affordable price for ordinary consumers

1.0 CHANGE OUR SOCIETY: RAISE STANDARDS IN SCHOOLS

Raise standard in UPE and USE Schools by delivering quality education

IPC government will improve the standards for all pupils and students and close the attainment gaps between the richest and the poorest. We will enhance the prestige and quality of the teaching profession and we will make sure that teachers live a quality life. The teacher’s salary, will be raised from the current Uganda shillings 250,000 to a minimum of 400,000 in the first 100 days and children in UPE will be fed with lunch and breakfast.

The average rural child in Uganda is taught by poorly trained and unmotivated teachers in a crowded classroom with few or no text books and no other learning tools.

Under UPE, out of every 100 children that enter P1, only 23 will finish P7. A large proportion of these children can hardly read nor count.

The brilliant and resilient children who manage through tremendous effort and sacrifice to qualify for tertiary education are then excluded because government scholarships only cater for privileged children who benefited from superior private school education. Generations of Ugandans are being excluded from opportunities permanently because of this imposed ignorance disguised as universal education.

Teachers, who toil every day, earn little money that cannot allow them to live a dignified life. Whereas, UPE and USE are good policies, their implementation in Uganda is a disaster that has retarded our children

Many school going children, stay hungry all day and have lost pride in schooling; our universities are underfunded and expensive for those without wealth and connections.

The IPC government will correct these injustices by focusing attention on improvement in the standards of education by doing the following:

1.1 Pay a minimum monthly salary of UGX 400,000 to teachers and ensure high standards of teaching in all schools and also provide housing for rural teachers or housing allowances where actual housing is not practical.

1.2 Compulsory school feeding funded for all primary and secondary schools.

1.3 Provision of free exercise books, pencils and pens for pupils in primary schools.

1.4 A vocational school shall be built in each constituency to cater for the UPE pupils.

1.5 All university students, whether in government or private universities, will receive equal government financial sponsorship.

1.6 A student loan scheme at no interest will be started to help those not able to afford the top-up tuition fees

1.7 Upgrade and expand schools infrastructure, equipment, and keep the pupil- teacher ratio at a maximum of 45 to1, especially for rural schools.

1.8 Review and reform the education system to make school leavers’ qualifications more relevant for the job market, and to the real needs of society.

1.9 Introduce ICT as an essential subject in all primary and secondary schools, and equip schools to teach it.

1.10 Replace State House scholarships with scholarships competed for at regional levels, to allow children from poor families to access quality higher education.

1.11 Increase the number and quality of modern technical schools across the country, in all the 8 sub regions of Uganda in order to cater for those who dropout of post-primary schools.

2.0 CHANGE SOCIETY: PROVIDE QUALITY HEALTH CARE FOR ALL

Make the Heath System Work

IPC government will support the National Health System. We will increase health spending every year and ensure that there are drugs in health units. We will give patients more choices including free medical care for expecting mothers, children and other vulnerable groups. We will improve the wages of health workers, starting with medical officers, nurses, and all those who work to save the lives of our people. We will renovate and equip all health centers as well as district and regional hospitals including building more hospitals that are responsive to our health needs. Our primary goal will be to stamp out unnecessary deaths and pain that mothers and children face daily under the current government.

While Uganda’s economy continues to grow, the majority of Ugandans continue to suffer and die in their homes, or in public health facilities with no doctors or nurses, no equipment, and no medicines. About 16 Ugandan women die every day of pregnancy related conditions. Out of every 1000 babies born alive each year, 76 die before they reach one year. Out of every 100 health workers needed in health centres, only 45 are available. Poor health is preventing Ugandans from meaningful participation in education and economic activity. The public has lost faith in the national health system to the extent that majority have resorted to traditional birth attendants for delivery and drug shops and private clinics for medical service. The cost of health care is unaffordable to ordinary Ugandans.

The IPC shall pursue a health strategy that includes preventive, curative, and rehabilitative services, and shall provide free essential health services.

Increase health workers’ salaries to a living wage immediately.

2.1 Rehabilitate hospitals and health centres, and build 20 new hospitals.

2.2 Ensure availability of medicines in health centres and hospitals as part of the provision of a free essential health care package

2.3 Decongest referral hospitals by improving the quality of services at general hospitals and health centres.

2.4 Recruit health workers to fill the big gap in health worker staffing levels, from the current 45% of positions filled, to at least 75% of the necessary workforce in the next 3 years.

2.5 Increase funding to health sector to a minimum of 16% of GDP from the current 9%

2.6 Reduce maternal mortality from the current 435 per 100,000 live births or 16 deaths of women per day – with the ultimate goal of “letting no woman die in childbirth”, through: free and easily accessible antenatal and maternity services, effective referral, and a motivated health work force.

2.7 Avail family planning services that are easily accessible, easy to understand and use especially in rural areas, taking into account the special needs of the large teenage population in Uganda.

2.8 Provide holistic treatment and support for persons living with HIV/AIDS, including children.

3.0 CHANGE SOCIETY: PROTECT VULNERABLE GROUPS

Social protection

IPC government will protect and support vulnerable support vulnerable groups. We will put in place an emergency relief system. We will pay UGX 50,000/= per months to persons over 65 years. We will restore dignity to the vulnerable by ensuring that they live a quality life.

Under the current government, the poor, the elderly and orphans in our communities struggle to make ends meet. Those without support from their children struggle to live and yet the current government continues to be non-responsive to their needs. These vulnerable groups of people have been neglected and continue to suffer in silence.

The IPC government understands the dangers occasioned by the absence of an efficient social protection system that can ensure a quick response to calamities and disaster, both manmade and natural.

The IPC government will therefore;

3.1 Put in place an emergency food relief program.

3.2 Transfer 50,000 Uganda shillings every month to persons over 65 years.

3.3 Introduce measures to improve relief distribution logistics such as storage, transport, purchasing and processing in order to reduce relief prices.

3.4 Consult with the workers, to reform the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) and ensure that workers savings are safe

3.5 Consult with stakeholders on the possibility for contributors of NSSF to access their savings in the form of loans at low interest rates

4.0 CHANGE THE ECONOMY: PROVIDE SAFE WATER

Safe water a right to all Ugandans

We believe water is life and all Ugandans must have it.

There is no doubt that water is life, everyone needs clean and safe water. Yet under the current government, Uganda in the 21st century many Ugandans continue to die of waterborne diseases which they get from dirty water. In villages, people travel long distances to look for water from wells.

Increasingly, water has become scarce and expensive even for the middle class. The few boreholes that were constructed by NGOs’ get crowded and the majority of them have broken down; and remain unrepaired.

The IPC government, will put water and sanitation at the top of its priority areas by doing the following;

4.1 Increase access to safe drinking water from the present National average of 57% in 2010, to 100% access by 2016.

4.2 Repair all broken boreholes and build new ones depending on assessments of needs.

4. 3 Draw piped water from lakes to dry areas, towns and schools.

4. 4 Harvest rain water into dams for animals and irrigation.

4. 5 Increase funding to the water sector and prioritise the provision of water and sanitation in rural and slum areas.

4. 6 Involve the private sector in extending water supply at subsidised rates to the poor and the majority of our people and slum areas.

5.0 CHANGE SOCIETY: ENCOURAGE AND SUPPORT SPORTS

Promote sports and keep the Ugandan flag flying

IPC government will increase funding for sports in schools and other community areas.

We will support our national football team to qualify to participate in the 2018 World Cup and athletes to participate in the 2012 and 2016 Olympics. We shall initiate sports recognition for sportsmen and women and make sports a part of the compulsory curriculum in both secondary and primary. We will give scholarship to talented students who excel in sports.

Sports have been underscored as one of the most important sectors. Apart from generating physical fitness, sports are currently among the highest earning occupations. Unfortunately, under previous governments, sports have been marginalized. All our sportsmen and women have struggled on their own to keep our national flag high. We salute them for their achievement even with minimum support from the current government.

The IPC government;

5.1 Focus on sports as a priority investment area in schools and communities.

5.2 Promote sports in schools through construction of sports facilities and academies.

5.3 Initiate special national recognition for sportsmen and sportswomen

1.0 FEDERALISM: GIVE POWER TO THE PEOPLE

Several regions of Uganda have for long demanded for federal governments. During the 1995 Constitution making process, over 60% of the population expressed their desire to have federal governments. Failure to address these demands has caused political conflict in the country. The Constitution says power belongs to the people. IPC government will listen to the people and solve this persistent national challenge once and for all.

The IPC government shall do the following:

1.1 Honour the views of Ugandans as expressed in the Odoki and Ssempebwa Commission Reports, hold dialogue, agree and implement a viable federal system of governance across Uganda where power and resources shall be shared equitably between the regions and the central government.

1.2 Respect the rights of various nationalities in Uganda to enjoy, practice, maintain and promote their cultural institutions and traditions.

1.3 Give back to cultural institutions their expropriated properties including land in Buganda and pay all debts owed to them by the central government for the use of their properties including compensation to Buganda Kingdom for the losses they incurred as a result of the closure of CBS radio station within one year of assuming office.

1.4 Reverse NRM policies which were formulated and implemented with the sole intention of dismembering Buganda.

1.0 CHANGE POLITICS: MAKING CORRUPTION RISKY

IPC government will fight corruption at all levels. IPC will have zero tolerance to corruption and all those found guilty of this offence will face severe punishment including refunding misappropriated funds. We will ensure that all organs that fight corruption are active and well facilitated. We will strengthen Civil Society and work with them in the fight against corruption.

For 25 years public funds have stolen by some leaders of NRM. The government has nurtured corruption as a way of life in Uganda. It has now reached alarming levels in the public sector and yet those who steal public funds are unpunished and even promoted. This has frustrated the efforts and aspiration of many Ugandans. It has reduced the chances of delivering public services such as education, health and infrastructure, efficiently thus hindering progress.

The IPC government will do the following to end corruption:

1.1 Implement a policy of zero tolerance to corruption through making corruption a high risk venture.

1.2 Continue to ensure that the Public Accounts Committee is headed by the opposition as a check on government.

1.3 Ensure that corrupt officials are punished promptly and firmly according to the law without fear or favour. And recover whatever they have stolen.

1.4 Educate and empower citizens, civil society organizations, and the media on their role in fighting corruption.

1.5 Empower the offices of Attorney General, Inspector General of Government, and Director of Public Prosecution to be more competent, independent and better facilitated.

2.0 CHANGE POLITICS: IMPROVE OUR GOVERNANCE

IPC will scale back the state and the government. We will protect our civil liberties and protect our freedoms

Good governance is not only a prerequisite for investment and enterprise development but is also a lynchpin for confidence building among the people. Unfortunately, for most of the 48 years after independence, this good governance has been rare in Uganda. Under the current government, we had all hoped to build robust governance institutions but unfortunately, this has not been realised. The executive interferes in the work of parliament as well as intimidating the judiciary.

The IPC government will:

2.1 Reconstitute the Electoral Commission through a consultative process to reflect conditions in a multi-party system.

2.2 Guarantee individual liberties and freedoms.

2.3 Reinstate presidential term limits so that we do not breed dictators.

2.4 Abolish the presence of the army in Parliament and ensure that the Army is non-partisan.

2.5 Reduce the size of Cabinet and Parliament in order to save for social services.

2.6 Improve the independence of the legislature by requiring that members of Parliament who are appointed to the Executive relinquish their position in the House.

2.7 Ensure independence of the judiciary and support the judicial system in upholding the rule of law.

3.0 CHANGE POLITICS: REHABILITATE THE NORTH, TESO AND KARAMOJA

Rehabilitate the North and the North east

IPC government will give priority to areas that have been devastated by war for over twenty years. We will reconstruct the infrastructure, pay war reparations and compensate war victims.

North and North Eastern Uganda have lagged behind the rest of the country in many aspects of development, in large measure due to war and civil conflict. There has been a big imbalance in sharing the national cake. The regions have been plagued by chronic food insecurity, grinding poverty, high illiteracy rates, human rights abuses, and limited access to means of production. An entire generation has been disenfranchised. Uganda cannot be truly developed when a part of the country remains behind.

The IPC government will correct this imbalance by doing the following:

3.1 Implement focused investment in all areas of development, including infrastructure, access to water, education, health, and agriculture, including animal re-stocking in North and North East.

3.2 Compensate all those who lost properties and family members

3.3 Engage in dialogue and negotiation to end cattle rustling

3.4 Nurture the spirit of tolerance of divergent opinions in all institutions of government.

3.5 Conduct peaceful disarmament as opposed to a forceful approach to disarmament.

4.0 CHANGE POLITICS: PROMOTE NATIONAL UNITY AND RECONCILIATION

Set up truth and reconciliation commission

IPC government will promote fair treatment of all Ugandans. All Ugandans will share equitably the national cake and benefit from national prosperity.

IPC will set up a national reconciliation commission to reconcile and cleanse the country.

Uganda has progressively become a fractured society. Areas of legitimate disagreement have been allowed to degenerate into causes of violent conflict. The IPC seeks to unite all Ugandans, and to foster a strong sense of national unity, where all Ugandans are convinced that government is working for their common good.

To this end the IPC government will institute a National Truth and Reconciliation Commission to help heal the deep rifts in the country, and to help Ugandan society forge a common future. Uganda has the potential to become a peaceful and prosperous nation with people fully confident and in charge of their future.

The IPC government will:

4.1 Promote fairness for all Ugandans in employments, promotions, justice, among others.

4.2 Promote respect and tolerance for each other irrespective of gender, tribe, religion or race.

5.0 PROMOTE FOREIGN POLICY THAT SERVES NATIONAL INTERESTS

The wellbeing of Ugandans is closely linked to the wellbeing and success of Uganda’s neighbors. The East African Community is making strides in different aspects of regional collaboration. Uganda continues to be involved in military operations in regional countries as part of international peace keeping efforts. Uganda has a significant international community and many Ugandans are working and living abroad.

Much as our participation in international organizations such as the AU and UN have given us recognition among African countries, we also know that the current President of Uganda has exported wars, and promoted conflict on the continent. We have been sucked in various conflicts such as the one in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Sudan. Consequently our neighbors look at us with suspicion.

The IPC government will strengthen Uganda’s links with the international community by doing the following:

5.1 Continue to promote and support initiatives that advance global and regional peace.

5.2 Promote the East African Community (EAC) and pursue political federation of East Africa.

5.3 Work with other countries to pro-actively combat terrorism.

5.4 Adhere to principles of international law, respect covenants and conventions, and agreements that enhance solidarity between states.

5.5 Pursue regional economic integration through harmonization of tariffs and investment policy regimes that enable free flow of goods, services and labor, by actively participating in the EAC and other regional economic bodies

5.6 Strengthen Kiswahili teaching and use in the country

6.0 BUILD A DEFENCE SYSTEM THAT PROTECTS OUR NATIONAL INTERESTS

Defend our security at all times

We will create a National Security Council chaired by the President to oversee all areas of our security. Defence and national security are needed for peace, stability, growth of business and development. Everyone loves a peaceful society where conflicts are amicably resolved and where people live at peace with each other in the country as well as with neighbours. For 25 years the NRM government has promised to modernize the army, but to date many of the armed forces including army, prisons, police and security agencies still live in uniports and “mama ingia pole”.

Many of those who retired after serving the country (Veterans) have not been paid their due retirement benefits and the live a miserable life.

We promise to pay attention to the welfare and wellbeing of our service men.

Ensure well trained and motivated armed forces by doing the following:

6.1 Streamline, build and equip national security agencies.

6.2 Review the recruitment, training, promotion, and remuneration of the armed forces, ensuring that they reflect national character.

6.3 Improve the welfare of the armed forces, with special emphasis on salaries, housing, health care, dependents’ education, and pensions.

6.4 Ensure that our service men on a foreign mission are well equipped and supported by the population by seeking permission from the parliament.

6.5 Ensure that we pay retirement benefits to all ex- soldiers, police officers and prisons irrespective of what government they served under upon retiring from active service.

6.6 Promotions in the army, prisons, police and other auxiliary forces must be based on merit and reflect our national character.

We will reduce carbon emissions. We will plant trees and safe guard our forests. We will quickly develop a waste disposal management policy to protect our environment

We are facing a problem of climate change, which has largely resulted from failure to manage nature for our own benefit. The result has been depletion of forest resources, encroachment on marginal resources and inappropriate utilisation of land resources during farming.

The IPC government shall do the following to ensure sustainable environmental management.

1.1 Support extensive afforestation by providing tree seeds and supporting projects aimed at increasing the number of trees.

1.2 Gazette and protect all areas possessing fragile ecological systems such as wetlands.

1.3 Invest in the promotion and exploitation of energy sources that spare forests and the environment.

1.4 Ensure greater participation of women at all levels in the planning, management, and preservation of the environment and the sustainable use of natural resources.

THIS IS A COMPLEX WORLD. It is and it has always been convenient to believe that there is only the pattern of good and evil, or black and white, or enemy and ally to explain this world - accepting the assumption that the own position as a matter of course is the good, right and morally superior view. The ability to understand other societies, religions and cultures, or even people in other social circumstances apart from our own requires a profound knowledge of languages, social, political and cultural history, and the current circumstances of "alien" societies.

THIS knowledge is achievable only with a high level of education or personal intercultural experiences for all who take part in decision making processes: citizens, voters, lawmakers, and political opinion leaders. Democracy will fail without well educated voters and officeholders. It is not just coincidental that many founding fathers of modern democracy - such as Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin - have been devoted to and caring so much on education.

BEING as naive to assume that there is a general will for a peaceful future, what can be done to reach this goal?

INSTEAD of bombing those who we do not understand it might be worth to try to learn more about each other - that means in common terms to listen to each other, and that means specifically to pay a greater attention to education. Why shouldn't we try to spend more money on education than on the military budget?

IMAGINE how many schools could be built and how many teachers could be paid in the US, in China, in Gaza, in Egypt or elsewhere from the costs of one Tomahawk Cruise Missile ( $ 1.000.000 ) or of one stealth bomber ( $ 2.100.000.000 ) ?

EDUCATION is the basis for reasonable decision making but it also foregoes economic growth and the development of a civil society where people can follow their live plans, having a family and watching their children growing up. People who have some perspectives and responsibility in life - a family, a profession, artistic talents, sports etc. - might not give up their life in order to spread terror among other civilians. And others might have a greater insight on the long lasting consequences of their political decisions.

WHY CAN'T WE JUST GO ON like in the 20th century, the "good" fighting the "evil", having some disastrous wars and so on... The answer is very simple: there are BIG GLOBAL PROBLEMS ahead. The first years of this 21st century have already passed, and it is out of question that humanity will be confronted with some severe global challenges in the upcoming decades. Global means that the consequences will affect
everyone on this planet, and that a solution or dilution of these crises can be found only in agreement with the whole global community.

MASTERING the problem of the ozone hole by globally banning the CFCs in the 1980s shows that pragmatic action is possible if there is some agreement on basic scientific facts. Some examples: The climate crisis will cause that the sea level will rise several meters - nobody needs to take care on New Orleans and many other coastal regions, then. IT is for sure that we will have more extreme weather conditions such as record like hot summers, hurricans, tornados, flooding. Deserts will continue to spread and deforested areas in Southern America, Asia and Africa will worsen this problem. Additionally there is no doubt that the era when energy supply was based on fossil recourses (oil, gas, coal, and uranium) will end in the 21st century.

THESE (self made) problems are no peanuts - they are threatening the very existence of the human race. We will need some smart ideas, some very sophisticated solutions to handle these upcoming challenges!

THUS, as far as we live in democracies we can choose to waste our
enegery in the next decades in the military battle for the last
resources on this planet (which won't solve any of our problems) or to
go into a huddle, find some political agreement and some scientific
means to handle the climate and energy crisis.

availability of nuclear bombs or number of troops were requiered to be

that are our taxes which are spend on the military budget - the
statistics may provoke two questions:
1. Do we really believe to make the world more peaceful in spending as
much money on the military?
2. Aren't there any better issues on which we could spend our taxes -

unstable countries in developing a civilian society?

Obama Cleans Up After Bush

President Barack Obama has promised change for America, but when itcomes to environmental regulations, he's still in the grip of yesterday. In his last few months in office, former President George W. Bush's Administration pushed through over 150 "midnight regulations," many of them weakening existing environmental protections. Although Obama is now in charge, most of Bush's new rules are on the books, and changing them will take time and effort from an already burdened White House. "The Obama Administration will be saddled with reversing harmful Bush rules at the same time that Obama wants to enact his own agenda," says John Walke, a senior attorney for the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC).

That's no accident. In May 2008, then White House chief of staff Joshua Bolten issued a memo instructing federal agencies to finalize any new regulations by Nov. 1, 2008. At the time, the White House said the memo was meant to head off the rush of last-minute rulemaking that usually jams up the final months of any outgoing Administration. But it also had a tactical purpose: new regulations require 30 to 60 days from their official publication in the Federal Register to take effect. (Regulations that have an "insignificant" economic effect —
less than $100 million — need 30 days; bigger rules need 60.) By finalizing midnight regulations at the beginning of November, the Bush Administration ensured that most of the rules would be in effect before Obama took the oath of office on Jan. 20 — in some cases, just before. (See the top 10 green ideas of 2008.) Despite the Bush Administration's deserved reputation for punctuality, not every new midnight regulation was finalized in time, and the Obama White House acted quickly to slow what it could. In the Administration's first full day in office, White House chief of staff Rahm Emmanuel sent out a memo ordering a halt to all federal regulations not yet finalized until the new team could review them.
For the environment, that meant Obama was able to save the gray wolf from being removed from the Endangered Species Act and block a pair of new air-quality rules, including one that would prevent the regulation of greenhouse-gas emissions from oil refineries. (Read "High Hopes for Obama's Green Dream Team.") But many more rules remain on the books. They include regulations that allow mountaintop-removal mining projects to pollute streambeds with leftover dirt, and a Bush move to begin to permit drilling for oil and gas on the Outer Continental Shelf. Worse, they also include a drastic weakening of the Endangered Species Act, allowing federal agencies to bypass expert advice from federal scientists on whether proposed projects would have an impact on endangered species, essentially cutting the heart out of the act. "The number of regulations where the Bush Administration succeeded far outnumbered the ones where they
failed," says Walke.
The Obama Administration isn't completely helpless. As the President, Obama of course can push through regulations of his own, but that can take months, and many of the political appointees who will be manning the responsible federal agencies haven't even been picked yet, never mind confirmed. Environmental groups like the NRDC are already seeking to challenge some Bush regulations in court, and the White House could at least maneuver to suspend — if not yet revoke — the rules while it seeks to overturn them. The Administration could also seek to withhold funding from certain regulations. Last, as part of the Congressional Review Act, which went into force in 1996, the White House can ask Congress to vote down any rule finalized after a certain date, which would include all the midnight regulations. But that law has been used
successfully only once since it was enacted, and exercising it would take valuable energy away from Obama's legislative agenda.
With an economy in meltdown, two wars to fight and a need to find his feet quickly, Obama may not have the time to rewrite Bush's rulebook, even if it does hurt the planet. "It's a huge burden on a new presidency that already faces more than its fair share of burdens," says Vickie Patton, a senior attorney with the Environmental Defense Fund. Bush's messes won't be cleaned up easily.

give this term is important and applies to a set
of very specific qualities.

Qualities that, although never actually
discussed among men, are universally understood.

Quick quiz here for you:

1) You've got cool fashion sense.

2) Great taste in music.

3) You hang with the hippest friends at the best
places.

4) And you're often the life of the party.

So, that makes you a "Cool Girl", right?

Not necessarily.

So, what in the world are men talking about?

And why are they so fickle?

Well, for starters, MEN DON'T MAKE SENSE. The
more you try and use logic and reason to figure
out or understand a man's thinking and behavior,
the more you're going to become frustrated and
upset by them.

It may seem simple or even downright
ridiculous, but men think of women as "cool girls"
when they see that a woman understands something
that other women can't even see going on.

Men see that a cool girl "gets it" on a level
that lots of other women don't.

They demonstrate to men certain social and
emotional understandings and ways of behaving that
resonate deeply with men, without them having to
be talked about or explained.

You'll hear different stats for this, but
something around just 8% of communication is done
through the actual spoken word.

We're talking here about that AND the other
92%, which, for most women, is saying things to a
man that they don't even know they're saying.

To put it another way, "cool girls" exude
positive emotional energy that men can relate to.

And they're "naturally" the kind of women who
every man is inexplicably drawn to, even if they
doesn't look like a supermodel.

Want to know her secret?

In today's email I'm going to reveal EXACTLY
what makes you stand out as a "Relationship
Material" (a "Cool Girl") in a guy's mind.

And we'll talk about how you can harness your
own power to become one.

But first, let's learn what a cool girl ISN'T.
Let me ask you a question:

Has a man ever accused you of being too
"emotional?"

How about "moody?"

Or worse - maybe some guy actually called you
"hysterical" or "needy"?

Whatever he called you, it was the start of him
closing off or getting irritated with you and
things going wrong in the conversation.

What's frustrating for lots of women is that
men often react this way when you simply bring up
something you feel strongly about or you need to
get off your chest.

Sure, maybe you got a little choked up or felt
intense about it, but you were just being honest
with your feelings.

Well I hate to be the one to break it to you,
but this isn't unusual for a man to do.

In fact, it's "standard" behavior for most men
to react to a woman with withdrawal or frustration
in these kinds of conversations.

Is it the "right" thing for a man to do?

Obviously not. But you might be forgetting that
MEN DON'T MAKE SENSE.

And don't get me wrong...

I'm not saying that honesty isn't important or
that you're not entitled to feel how you feel.

But, in order to make a relationship work, it's
CRITICAL for you to understand that men simply
aren't "wired" the same way that women are when it
comes to connecting on an emotional level.

Men open up, connect, and become emotionally
"committed" in different ways, and for different
reasons than most women do.

Unfortunately, lots of women never really learn
what these differences are... so they go about
trying to build a connection, attraction, and
create a lasting relationship with a man by doing
what would work FOR THEM.

You don't have to be a genius to figure out
that this approach rarely works.

important differences when it comes to

And what's more... they make these differences
work in their favor (and not against them like so

It's as if they've learned this unspoken "guy
code" that most other women don't even know is
going on right in front of them.

Well, today I'm letting you in on some of these
codes and guidelines... starting with a few of the
big "Don'ts":

"Cool Girl" DON'Ts:

- Cool Girls DON'T exaggerate about what's going
on around them or what a man's doing, unless
they're doing it as a joke or to make fun of a man
in a playful way.

- Cool Girls DON'T say everything that they're
feeling and experiencing. They think before they
speak. (Listen up to this one -- it's HUGE.)

- Cool Girls DON'T mention bad situations, issues
or problems from the past unless it's a total
"must" or extremely important and they haven't
been able to talk about it yet. They find the
right time for them AND their man to talk.
Otherwise, Cool Girls live in the present moment.

- Cool Girls DON'T try to FORCE a man to talk
about his feelings. They know that it will only
backfire and he'll think she's being needy and
close off.

Now, I know what you're probably thinking:

"How can they act like that? It sounds like
'Cool Girls' are totally fake or devoid of all
natural emotion."

Wrong.

"Cool girls" still experience all of the same
thoughts and feelings any normal healthy woman
has...

But, they've CHOSEN to adopt a different kind
of behavior that will ultimately get them the
response that they're looking for with the man.

They acknowledge the irrational ways of men and
let that help shape their actions, which results
in very powerful, very positive reactions from the
men in their lives.

Simply put, they've got guys eating out of
their hand, even in situations where other women
would have caused emotional turmoil and "drama."

And, isn't that something that YOU would love
to have too?

It's not manipulative or diabolical...it's just
plain common sense.

So, what are some of these "cool girl"
behaviors and ways of non-verbally communicating?

I'll get to that in just a minute...

First, let's take a look at a letter from a
reader with the potential to be a "Cool Girl" ...
if only she could keep her emotions from ruling
her decisions:

Hi Christian, I just purchased your book and I
have to say my eyes started to open in just a few
pages. I KNOW I've been making the mistake of
being too emotional. First of all, I should give
you some background. My boyfriend is in the Air
Force and he's stationed in San Antonio. I live in
Los Angeles.

Being in a long distance relationship has been
very hard on me. Especially since I'm not a
patient person.

We run into trouble when I'm feeling sad about not
seeing him and call him up expecting him to make
me feel better. I'm assuming that I shouldn't lean
on him emotionally since he doesn't respond when I
do.

I know he's worth waiting for. I just don't want
to do stupid girl things that will drive him away
:) I love him completely. I want this
relationship to work!!!!

Please send me any advice you can give me.

Very good.

Now, say it one more time.

As they say in 12-Step programs, admitting that
you have a problem is the first step towards
recovery.

The thing is, I'm joking around with you and
calling you names around this serious situation
for a specific reason...

Because you're acting like a helpless little
girl so I have to make fun of you to get you to
realize it.

Stop it!

Now, get ready for some tough love...

You're better than how you're behaving, but in
a sick kind of way, it's easier for you to keep on
initiating the only real problem you spelled out
here in your relationship-

How you make your man be the one responsible
for you and your negative feelings.

A boyfriend is there for a lot of things in a
relationship, but to make you feel good each time
you get sad or down is NOT HIS JOB!

I'll repeat that in case you didn't hear me the
first time -

It's NOT HIS JOB to save you from the feelings
you have and make them go away.

That's called DEPENDENCY, and it leads both
people to frustration and resenting each other in
the long run.

Translation - there's little hope for any
LASTING or mutually fulfilling love in a situation
that involves one person dependent on the other
for approval, validation, or to experience love or
joy in life.

And, in case you don't already know this,
creating and fostering this kind of dependency is
one of the surefire ways to kill off any
ATTRACTION you might already have going in a
relationship.

Have you ever been with a man and had AMAZING

Which of course only made things worse as you
acted out of fear and uncertainty about him, his

Now, let's get back to the topic of being
DEPENDENT (or "needy") when dating or in
relationships...

In case you don't see it, a man helping you to
feel better and satisfy your emotional needs can
actually make you a WEAKER PERSON.

And not only that, it can keep you and a man
and your relationship from ever being able to
GROW.

In fact, being emotionally dependent on another
person can actually cause a good relationship to
REGRESS.

Here's something you need to remember, but
sometimes forget when you're inside an intense
emotional situation with a man...

Relationships are supposed to be about growth,
and not about becoming dependent on someone else
meeting your emotional needs at any time you want
it.

And, part of you knows this about living a
strong, "real" relationship - that it can't meet
all your emotional needs.

But, part of you also wants and DEMANDS that a
man acknowledge and satisfy your feelings and
desires.

Part of you has the habit of wanting instant
emotional gratification.

"Love on demand."

Let me give it to you straight...

It's a man's place in a relationship to be a
good partner, to care for you, to listen, to be a
great lover, to connect, to be loyal, and to
share.

I get than men need to "show up" more often in
relationships.

But...

When you DEMAND that a man meet your emotional
needs and "lean" on him out of your own fears,
frustrations, and uncertainty... these problems
are ALL YOUR OWN.

And the truth is most men will eventually
become tired and fed up with a woman who is
constantly DEMANDING emotional approval and
understanding from him... instead of finding a way
to create the experience so that both she AND he
feel like they are having their needs met.

So, let's take some positive steps, because
things still aren't so bad.

First, for your own good, you need to figure
out WHY you're "sad", as you mentioned in your
email.

And I mean why you're sad personally, because I
think a lot of what's happening has nothing to do
with the man in your life at all.

Sure he makes mistakes and doesn't "get it".

But, you can get past that.

You need to address the CAUSE of your feelings,
and not keep trying to find "quick-fixes" for the
symptoms.

Think about it, and see if there's anything
else in your life and in the past that could be
making you feel sad - and then take some positive
steps around those.

Secondly, it's time to start acting like the
smart, fun, mature, healthy woman that he knows
and fell in love with.

She's in there somewhere, and it's up to you to
find her. Don't leave it up to him, because he
might get tired of carrying the relationship's
emotional tone for you.

Here's a few ideas about how to do that...

I want you to stop acting SO SERIOUS all the
time and getting yourself EMOTIONALLY WORKED UP.

It sounds dumb, but please start smiling more.

Your body has a strange and powerful ability to
affect your emotions.

Posture, breathing, activity and actual
relaxation are other great ways to simply give
yourself the gift of more positive emotions.

Ok, now back to your brain...

You're escalating your own fears and
frustrations and it's doing something that could
turn into a real destructive force in your
relationship:

You're creating a negative feedback loop that
just gets worse and worse as it goes.

Let's spell out what your feedback loop is so
you can interrupt it and get to better things...

The more you feel sad, the more you give him
sad and negative emotions.

And, the more negative emotions he gets from
you, the less he's able to stay happy and positive
himself and have the energy and desire to draw you
out of your girlish sadness and dependency on him
for your feelings.

Which of course, only makes you feel more sad
and helpless, so you turn to him more for help and
around we go again.

Don't let the NEGATIVE FEARS and EMOTIONS you
have RUIN THE LOVE LIFE you could have.

Learning to stop negative patterns in your life
and relationships is a "must-have" skill if you
want to have lasting and loving relationships.

The thing is, most people know that
relationships take "work."

And long-distance relationships can feel like
even more work and give back even less immediate
"rewards."

Every phone call seems to have life-or-death
importance...

Every call, letter, and email is examined for
subtext and clues.

Every weekend visit has to be PERFECT or you
start to question everything.

It's only natural to feel a little more "needy"
or feel like your emotions are heightened all the
time.

But, the trick is not to let these feelings
overwhelm you.

If you do, they'll cause you to REACT
negatively to normal and natural situations.

When these negative reactions become common,
they keep you from actually doing positive things
that would make him feel MORE ATTRACTED and
CONNECTED to you.

And so the negative feedback loop continues.

A COMMON "EMOTIONAL CHALLENGE" IN RELATIONSHIPS

Most people don't truly think about and
appreciate the emotional "challenge" that comes
with committing to a mature, long-term
relationship like the one you're working on...

I'll bet that your relationship sometimes feels
like just a lot of "work" and sadness to you.

And as much as it scares you to death, you know
in the back of your mind that your man feels the
same way and sees what's happening.

He's not stupid.

I'll cut to the chase...

NOBODY wants their life or relationship to feel
like it's just a bunch of work.

And, a healthy minded person will only stay
around so long in a situation that just doesn't
work and isn't going to change.

Especially if they're trying to resolve a
problem or feeling that isn't really their own.

The sad feelings that you depend on your guy to
fix create this situation in the worst way.

Not to mention that your sadness makes him see
you as weak and much less ATTRACTIVE as a woman
and partner.

In fact, as much as it sucks to hear, I've got
to tell you that one reason it might be getting
harder for your man to "pull you out" of your
sadness is that he's FEELING LESS ATTRACTED to
you.

And with a man, LESS ATTRACTION leads to LESS
EMOTIONAL CONNECTION and less emotional
generosity.

There's something you're not doing that you're

feelings for the situation that you chose.

Almost like these bad things just happened to
you and you couldn't do anything about them.

Again, stop playing the helpless woman.

Of course you're going to feel sad, frustrated,
and upset if you're not recognizing that YOU chose
this situation as a trade-off to continue with the
great guy and relationship you've got.

Realize that you choose your life when it comes
to most of the situations you find yourself in.

THE POWER OF CHOOSING TO CREATE ATTRACTION AND A
POSITIVE CONNECTION WITH A MAN

What you've been doing in the past isn't
working for you or him, (not really) and it CAN'T
feel good.

Do you really like the feeling you get when you
dump your sad feelings on your boyfriend and he
disappoints you sometimes with his response?

Makes you feel kind of low, right?

You said it yourself: when you're feeling down,
you call him, expecting him to make you feel
better.

It's not that he doesn't care...

It's that they way you communicate, he doesn't
RESPOND.

When men hear women getting emotional, they
usually do one of two things:

1. Immediately go into "Action Mode" and try to
"fix" the problem with concrete solutions (and
that's not usually what women want to hear)

2. SHUT DOWN

And I think you know which one happens more
often from experience, right?

Well, either way, both of these responses never
result in the comforting reaction that you might
be looking for.

Can I get a witness?

So, let's go back to this idea of "cool girls."

"Cool girls" know how to communicate with a man
in a way that leads a man to respond in a way that
works.

So, no more of that nonsense talk from your
email saying, "I'm not a patient person."

You don't have to be.

It just takes the emotional maturity to
recognize that the trade-offs, that you yourself
have already CHOSEN, are some of the challenges
here.

Stop playing victim to your own choices and
start finding reasons to be interesting and
ATTRACTIVE to him again.

Your man WILL RESPOND in kind.

"Cool girls" know this.

Here's a few of the "cool girl" Do's:

- Cool girls choose not to complain or talk about
things for too long that are not other people's
responsibility or impossible for anyone to solve,
given the current situation.

- Cool girls bring funny positive thoughts and
feelings to situations to create an experience
that men will want to have again and again.

- Cool girls know that they don't have to control
much with the situation around them for their own
comfort and to get the outcomes or responses they
want. They're willing to go with the flow when it
comes to social things, but make assertions when
they have opinions and ideas.

- Cool girls have options and things to do that
keep them satisfied so they don't feel like
they're left out if they're not invited to
something. (And even if the don't they certainly
don't complain about it or even mention it -- they
FIND something to do that makes them happy.)

- Cool girls prefer that a man makes up his own
mind; they don't try to make a man do something
she says or she can tell he doesn't want to do.

- Cool girls DO know that the way they feel and
talk about themselves is how men will feel about
them.

Justices Bar Death Penalty for the Rape of a Child

WASHINGTON — The death penalty is unconstitutional as a punishment for
the rape of a child, a sharply divided Supreme Court ruled on
Wednesday.

laws in Louisiana and five other states. The only two men in the
country who have been sentenced to death for the crime of child rape,
both in Louisiana, will receive new sentences of life without parole.

The court went beyond the question in the case to rule out the death
penalty for any individual crime — as opposed to "offenses against the
state," like treason or espionage — "where the victim's life was not
taken."

Justice Anthony M. Kennedy, writing for the majority, said there was
"a distinction between intentional first-degree murder on the one hand
and nonhomicide crimes against individual persons," even "devastating"
crimes like the rape of a child, on the other.

The decision was the third in the last six years to place a
categorical limitation on capital punishment. In 2002, the court
barred the execution of mentally retarded defendants. In 2005, it
ruled that the Constitution bars the death penalty for crimes
committed before the age of 18.

Nonetheless, despite this trend toward narrowing the application of
the death penalty, there was no suggestion from the majority that the
court was moving toward the abolition of capital punishment, which
Justice John Paul Stevens called for in an opinion two months ago that
no other justice joined.

Justice Kennedy said on Wednesday that while the court's death penalty
jurisprudence "remains sound," it should not be expanded to cover a
crime for which no one has been executed in the United States for the
past 44 years.

The case, Kennedy v. Louisiana, No. 07-343, was an appeal by one of
the two Louisiana inmates, Patrick Kennedy. He was convicted and
sentenced to death in 2003 for raping his 8-year-old stepdaughter,
whose injuries were severe enough to require emergency surgery. The
Louisiana Supreme Court upheld Mr. Kennedy's conviction and rejected
his challenge to the constitutionality of his sentence.

The United States Supreme Court prohibited capital punishment for rape
in a 1977 case, Coker v. Georgia in which the victim, while only 16
years old, was married and had the legal status of an adult. It was
not clear at the time whether that decision was limited to the rape of
an adult woman, or whether it barred the death penalty for any rape.

The court on Wednesday treated the issue of capital punishment for
child rape as a fresh question, not governed by any existing
precedent. As a matter of constitutional analysis, the question in the
case was whether the death penalty was so disproportionate to the
offense as to amount to cruel and unusual punishment, in violation of
the Eighth Amendment. The court's modern precedents interpret the
Eighth Amendment according to "the evolving standards of decency that
mark the progress of a maturing society."

Using that benchmark, Justice Kennedy said the majority had reached
its conclusion based on "our own independent judgment" about the
implications of extending the death penalty to child rape as well as
on the fact that the great majority of states have declined to do so.

The Louisiana law extending the death penalty to the rape of children
under the age of 12 dates to 1995. The states that followed were
Georgia, Montana, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Texas. Unlike
Louisiana, those states all require that a defendant have a previous
rape conviction or some other aggravating factor in order to be
subject to the death penalty, and no one has yet been sentenced to
death under any of the laws.

Justice Kennedy said there was thus a national consensus against
applying capital punishment for the crime.

In a dissenting opinion, Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr. sharply disputed
this conclusion. He said that because many judges and lawyers had
interpreted the 1977 Coker decision as barring capital punishment for
any rape, state legislatures "have operated under the ominous shadow"
of that decision "and thus have not been free to express their own
understanding of our society's standards of decency."

The fact that six states in modern times have nonetheless enacted such
laws, Justice Alito said, "might represent the beginning of a new
evolutionary line" that "would not be out of step with changes in our
society's thinking since Coker was decided." He said there were
abundant indications that society had become more aware of and
concerned about sex crimes against children.

Those who voted with Justice Kennedy in the majority were Justice
Stevens and Justices David H. Souter, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen
G. Breyer. Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. joined the dissent, along
with Justices Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas.

Addressing the separate question of the court's "own judgment,"
Justice Kennedy suggested that the flow of death penalty cases for
child rape could overwhelm the country's criminal justice system. He
noted that in 2005, there were 5,702 reported rapes of children under
the age of 12.

Perils in Business

Seated adjacent, Kiira road Police station at the offices of Ses Jolis Pieces in the MD's chair, tired and worn out after a days trotting to claim whats is mine, i mean "Debtors", shoes dripping after a days shower, it makes me tired and sick.

Business has always been at my fingure tips but due certain unforeseen seen perils, sorry risky, I've come to realize that, friends are good when U just socialize with them but not as in business prospects.

I've lost to a tune of $15,000/- in that aspect. They claim to give you business but instead, it becomes a NORM TO THEIR BENEFIT NOT TO YOUR BUSINESS.

Well, one friend told me the dealt in cars, giving him $ 5,000/-, instead, that was all air, another, his office was furnished using my own dime to a tune of $6,000/-, 3 Dell, computers, office chair and tables, all turned out to be 'Biccups' con men.

For the last 2 Years i have struggled to recover it but all in vain. Instead, it derailed my thinking and understanding. No thought of other ventures despite the struggle to invest, instead it crippled me.

What do say about such friends, this was all in the name of friends? since then I've learn't to deal with a stranger in business than deal with friends. I've decided to relocate and strategies in different ways.

Revitalizing my energies and make a life in different aspects. If U ever fall, in search a trap, one word to a wise man is enough.

Jealousy is such a stupid thing

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours
in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar...and the coffee
story...

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in
front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very
large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf
balls.

He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it
was. So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them
into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the
open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if
the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar.
Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if
the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous "yes."

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table
and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the
empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

"Now," said the professor, as the laughter subsided, "I want you to
recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the
important things, your God, family, your children, your health, your
friends, and your favorite passions things that if everything else was
lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your
house, and your car. The sand is everything else the small stuff.

"If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no
room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you
spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have
room for the things that are important. Pay attention to the things
that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take
care of the golf balls first, the things that really matter. Set your
priorities. The rest is just sand."

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you
that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a
couple of cups of coffee with a friend."

Never move into his mother's house. Never co-sign for a man.
Don't fully commit to a man who doesn't give you everything that you need.*
Keep him in your radar but get to know others.

A few weeks ago, in a cinema, a person felt something poking from her
seat. When she got up to see what it was, she found a needle sticking
out of the seat with a note attached saying "You have just been
infected by HIV (AIDS)".

The Disease Control Center (in Paris ) reports many similar events in
many other cities recently. All tested needles were HIV Positive. The
Center also reports that needles have been found in cash dispensers
(ATM) at public banking machines. We ask everyone to use extreme
caution when faced with this kind of situation. All public
chairs/seats should be inspected with vigilance and caution before
use. A careful visual inspection should be enough. In addition, they
ask that each of you pass this message along to all members of your
family and your friends of the potential danger.

Recently, one doctor has narrated a somewhat similar instance that
happened to one of his patients at the Praia Cinema in Delhi . A young
girl engaged and about to be married in a couple of months, was
pricked while the movie was going on. The tag with the needle had the
message : "Welcome to the World of HIV family". Though the doctors
told her family that it takes about 6 months before the virus grows
strong enough to start damaging the system and a healthy victim could
survive about 5-6 years, the girl died in 4 months, perhaps more
because of the "Shock thought". We all have to be careful at public
places, rest God help! Just think about saving a life by forwarding

Tea Consumption Linked to Numerous Body Benefits

Real tea -- including varieties such as black, green, oolong and
white, all come from the Camellia sinensis plant.

Number One, it's a zero-calorie beverage. So, without naming any

What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire

One day all the employees reached the office and they saw a big advice

colleagues, but after a while they started getting curious to know who

The excitement in the gym was such that security agents were ordered to
control the crowd within the room.

The more people reached the coffin, the more the excitement heated up.

Everyone thought: "Who is this guy who was hindering my progress? Well,
at least he died!".

One by one the thrilled employees got closer to the coffin, and when
they looked inside it they suddenly became speechless. They stood nearby
the coffin, shocked and in silence, as if someone had touched the

The former prime minister of India, now deceased, Indrah Ghandhi, was my idol and still is despite his death in an assination. He said, i quote, "many people in life luck the spark to take off in life, others need the synergy to ignite the momentum so as to succeed". Do U have the Spark?
This has been my under cover inspiration to my success. by the time i unleash it to my friends i call buddies, that means its more than too much in my little or big obliganta.
As to try many times to get to success, others try as much as possible to see to your down fall.
All, i can say to those who try to get down my nerves and encourage my dear friends to work hard is only some words ro a wise friend.

10 WAYS TO BLOW THE INTERVIEW

Information abounds regarding what you should say in an interview. But
it can be just as important to realize what not to say. It is also
imperative to note that what you say say can be communicated through
both your words and actions.

1. You arrive late to the interview.
What it means: "I really don't care about getting this position."

Arrive a healthy 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment to give
you time to collect your thoughts, review your notes and make a good
first impression.

2. You're rude to the receptionist.
What it means: "I'm difficult to get along with."

Receptionists are the gate keepers and it's their job to be the eyes
and ears of the company," cautions Lauren Milligan, founder and CEO of
ResuMAYDAY, Inc. Besides, if hired, you may need their cooperation one
day.

3. You answer questions withtrite or cliché responses.
What it means: "I'm just one of the crowd."

Telling the interviewer you are a perfectionist and expect too much of

Milligan warns. Prepare potential responses ahead of time to avoid

4. You don't ask questions.

cover letter is one long answer to this question: "Why should I read

1) Build rapport.
Cover letters are read by people, so address yours to a person. NEVER
start your cover letter with such clichés as "Dear Sir or Madam" or

When you finish your one-page masterpiece, give it to three friends
and ask for their first impressions and overall opinion. Their advice
is important.

Then, ask your friends to show it to three people you don't know. The
feedback you get from these strangers will be as important or more so,
since they won't be concerned about hurting your feelings.
SALARY NEGOTIATION BASICS
If you know what you're looking for when you negotiate your salary,

Take notice of all middle class, the so called learned or Educated, can not live in urban settings because of their academic qualifications, Its only the intelligent who live and persevere in a city environment , while those who can’t have been pushed far back end to the villages for their nearing to death.

I have always had this burning desire to read and write but many uncertainties and the yarn for survival, could not make this possible. Getting to look for at least a dollar a day for survival, could make one think that the world was so infuriately to bring me into it. However with the intelligence and strength I developed a form of survival instinct, hence what I am today.

Everyday, in life we encounter the great fears in our life which is just to wakeup and breathe another day. One has got to thank God for the gigantic mystery to life.

The greatest fear for me has not been how to survive neither breathe because God takes care of that. But waking up one morning to see whether you are really certain you can live for another 30 or so Years. The HIV and AIDS scourge seems so simple, but the day I went to clinic see friends, pals laugh other cry seemed an illusion to me not until I went through the same process.
Here I go to a clinic just to be very sure my life is safe and sound, you pop in, make payments, then go in rather to donate your blood through the nurse and later, laboratory. The nurse only tells u come later after 2 hours but this seems unpredictable a lot more hell done you can ever imagine.
“Its better to know your HIV/AIDS status than live without knowing what you live for.” This seems a little guarded but sounds truthful and scary. I couldn’t wait that day since, it was late, I decided to get home and come back the next morning for the same trots.
I got to the clinic a little early just incase things are bad; I could make my own cries. Went in presented my receipts boldly and the usual, the Nurse said “wait in the queue”, in a little while; she called my name “Harvey Williams”, WOW, a SIGH! My heart beats increased per micro second, go in that room and wait for me, then she followed me in the counseling room, advances started, sit over their, she asked me “have you been here before, I said Yes! She asked again, “have U had counseling before? Yes, all with feared confidence, to my surprise the nurse says, how often do you taste yourself, after every 3 months just to make sure, I’m fine. Oops, she only laughs and says, you are fine you need to keep it up. Thank God, I know now that I can still live for 30 or so years if I continue for the same. Isn’t that great? How often do you do that? I do encourage singles, couples and married to do the same often. I KNOW YOU CAN ALSO DO IT, EASY DOES IT. Please do that to save the World and make it a better place.
It doesn’t matter who is answerable for the past scourge, but it matters who is for the future, which is us. One will never know what a great relief I have.

is inevitable consumed within the rhythmic beatings of her very heart.
We love them for a million reasons, No paper would do it justice. It

I started reading the book IQ: A Smart History of a Failed Idea by
Stephen Murdoch, and he mentions Sidwell Friends School in Washington,
D.C. in a discussion in the opening chapter of the book of schools
requiring IQ testing for preschoolers. I looked at the Sidwell Friends
School website and found there this statement:

We seek students who demonstrate the potential to meet high academic
and personal standards and contribute to the vitality of the School.
As a Quaker school affiliated with the Religious Society of Friends,
we are committed to promoting the basic testimonies of Friends
(Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community, Equality, and Stewardship)
and providing all of our students with opportunities to "let their
lives speak" of excellence and caring.

Doesn't it seem deliciously ironic that a Quaker school, committed to
"equality" and "simplicity" would be among the most elite private
schools in the nation and would require that preschoolers take an IQ
test, not to mention that if they are admitted, their parents pay over
$25,000 in tuition per year?

From Wikipedia:

"Friends believe that all people are created equal in the eyes of God.
Since all people embody the same divine spark all people deserve equal
treatment. Friends were some of the first to value women as important
ministers and to campaign for women's rights; they became leaders in
the anti-slavery movement, and were among the first to pioneer humane
treatment for the mentally ill and for prisoners."

It all just sounds a bit contradictory to me. But then I've never been
a fan of elite private schools, nor have I ever understood all the
fuss in the East, particularly Washington D.C., about getting your
preschooler into the best private preschools that money and
connections and IQ scores can buy.

To each his own, as my mom would say.

Being a blogger has made realize, the essence of writing articles
which may or may not reflect what a life style one chooses to take.
I've always had this burning desire to read and write, but some times,
we writers perceive things and ideas differently. I took some time to
think through on what i write and what others may perceive from it.

Its not easy to say but people with true intrinsinc value perish mysteriosly like ones true self of a kind was Lucky DUBE. Little did your killers know the true value of human hood because we live once in flesh and die and the soul lives on।

I'll always remember you. Lucky, my best friend. May the insane, who
did this remain insane. I believe, what God brought you to do was i
guess over. May God take you with him.

Her Majesty the Queen, being the head of common wealth and former elly
to the Kabaka of buganda mutesa II, approves venue and hostess to
CHOGM. Come De day. this has thready shiftingly triggered the stagmant
Economy of Uganda, from the 3rd stage of development to the last stage
of development in the Roustos theory., from the once domant police
Force, fingured with type writters to computersation. With
electronically monitored street lights, to CCTV, (closed circuit
television) security systems, from crater like pot holed famous
Kampala city to a way fashioned, redesigned streets without fly overs
and the famous jams during rush hours, the mush rooming 1-2-3- 5 star
Hotels, with off course, the GIVA, funds and other squandered funds
from public coffers makes one wonder where the rest will be after
CHOGM. The recent 5X-6X BMW series flown into Uganda, the SPC
training, the New patrol police and Military awaiting the hands of
Reckless Ugandans. Without feel, touch and Patrotism of there beloved
Uganda.
Some times, i wonder what life would be if we where not to be planned
for, by our predecessors. Well, it leaves more to be desired but all
we can see now, its never too late. What i can conclude and analys in
development, tantamounts to what wolud have been done in 3 decades,
has been done in just a record time of 9 Months. Thanks to CHOGM.

How I wish we would have the Oil money spent to the heart of Uganda
and have it in the hands of the few. long live the real Heroes and
Patrots.

SLIGHT OUTLET

Dear readers, a slight outlet in a door invites / attracts others to peek through it. Correspondingly a slight outlet in our character invites / attracts others to make a way into or to take control of us.I like visiting quiet places. Few months back I happened to visit to one such place. There I found an attention-grabbing cottage among the trees and green bountiful grass. I was surprised to see a lonely cottage at such a place. I was curious to get to know about the inhabitants of the cottage so I decided to knock at the door. A pleasant looking old man having smile on his face emerged out of the cottage. I introduced myself to him and told him my name. Then after thinking for a while I asked him hesitatingly, "I know I have no right to ask you any kind of question and in fact I have no intension to interfere in your personal matters, yet would you allow me to ask you the reason of your stay at such a lonely place." The old man smiled, looked at me and said, "Hmmm!! Will! I will tell you the reason for it but don't you think that we need to choose a more cordial way; besides I would like to invite you to dine with me and then we will set better mode of conversation." After having meal and taking some rest the old man wished to have a walk and we set out on a narrow pedestrian subway in between the trees and thick plantation. During the toddle the old man said to me, "Will, I am highly obliged to these trees as they purify the whole atmosphere and they are the source of my food. I can't live without these trees yet they demand nothing in return. I am living a retired life and here I get time to think about life, nature, creator and creations. I do visit my town to meet with my relatives and friends at times but after meeting with them I return to my peaceful place." In the meantime we reached an open place, the old man stopped there spread a sheet on the ground so that we could sit on it. After few quiet moments the old man continued thoughtfully, "Will, different people may have different deficiencies and lacking tendencies for instance people do not always fully utilize all of their senses in other words some people may be deficient of seeing things properly and some people may have problems with hearing tendency while some people may not be able to think properly.Will, I do ask you... Do you have ears so do you hear? Do you have eyes so do you see? Do you have tongue so do you control it? Do you have arms and legs so do you possess their control?" Having said that much he paused for few seconds and then continued, "Here I would like to tell you a story. Long time ago in a certain village there lived four close friends. The most visible thing that they had in common was that they were handicaps. One of them was blind, the second one was deaf, third one was dumb and the fourth was lame. One day all the four decided to start off for a long trip. Along their way they got tired and decided to take some rest, therefore they sat under a thick tree. By chance all the four began to think independently on the same subject. In their imaginations they thought, 'how nice it would be if we begin to live a usual life like the normal people.' As they were thinking they found that they had become normal without any disability. They became very happy and decided to return to their village to tell the incredible incident to the people. The news of their recovery appeared to be an unbelievable incident to the people of the village. They inquired the four friends about the location of the place. All the people thought that the place was sacred hence they decided to build a fence around it. The news of the far-fetched incident of the four friends spread out to the far off places. People from distant places reached there seeking to get their problems solved but no one except those four friends ever succeeded. Will!
